On June 01, 2020 the Customs and Border Protection service (CBP), through its Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program, announced on its official portal the update of the security profile and its availability, after being on reconstruction for several months.
In order comply with the CTPAT partner agreement, the members must complete and submit their security profile updated once a year, their CTPAT anniversary date is used as the security profile due date. It should be noted that, as a means of reference, the program extended a questionnaire of the security profile, as well as their security profile availability of their previous years to use it as a support tool for filling the profile.
So as of June 01, 2020, the security profile is now again online and open for new entries. For which it should be taken in consideration the following:
- Under the CTPAT agreement, partners must complete and submit their security profile updated once a year.
- The CTPAT anniversary date is used as the due date of the security profile.
- The anniversary date is on the main login screen once you log in to your CTPAT account.
- All questions about the security profile were uploaded to the Public Library several months ago for each member to prepare for this transition.
- In addition, each company has a PDF document of their security profile available in the Partner document exchange section of the portal for easy reference to the last profile that was completed.
Below are instructions on how to proceed according to your anniversary date:

1. January/February 2020:
- If your security profile was submitted and approved during January or February of 2020 you are in compliance and your next security profile update is due in 2021 by your anniversary date.2. March/April/May 2020:
- If your security profile was due during the months of March, April or May, you must now log in and complete the security profile and submit for approval. Your previous security profile information is uploaded in a PDF format in the Partner Document Exchange. In addition, all of the security profile questions are in the Public Library section of the portal for reference.3. June through December 2020:
- If your security profile is due during the months of June through December, please keep with your anniversary date for submission. The security profile opens for updates 90 days before your anniversary date. This is when you will complete the security profile. Please ensure the security profile is completed and submitted before the anniversary date in order to be in compliance with the CTPAT partner agreement and to prevent suspension from the CTPAT program. Your previous security profile information is uploaded in a PDF format in the Partner Document Exchange. In addition, all of the security profile questions are in the Public Library section of the portal for reference.
Finally, it is important to highlight that the program remains open and all SCSS are continuously working and available during this pandemic. Therefore, it should be emphasized that CTPAT as a means to aid any company who is having difficult time during the pandemic, the program extends the option, that in case of being unable to complete the security profile by the anniversary date and need an extension, please contact your assigned Specialist (SCSS); this way, the program ensures their continued support to each partner, providing guidance and accommodations where it is necessary.
