According to the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP), the Tax Administration Service (SAT) will seek to increase tax collection in 2022 through increased auditing.

By 2022, the SAT expects additional revenues of 411.5 billion pesos, in addition to tax collection.

In addition, since there will be no increase in taxes, it is estimated that the tax authorities will be more timely and efficient in their reviews with the use of technology.

It should be taken into account that today the authority has more technological tools and information inputs, making its inspection processes more speedy and efficient.

At the end of 2020, the Treasury collected 496,217 billion pesos from audits. This represented an increase of 106% compared to 2019; in addition, it is the highest amount recorded for this concept.

However, in the first half of the year 2021, the Treasury recorded a significant drop in the collection of audits with 12% less to 247 billion pesos. In the first quarter of the year, there was a 33% increase in audits; however, in the second quarter the trend changed.
